What is Counseling in Engineering College Admission through Anna University ?

It is a systematic arrangement through which candidates called for a counseling session will be counselled (understanding the exact position) for selecting a particular branch of study and a particular college of his/her choice.

Based on the ranking to be allotted by the Anna University, candidates will be called for on the order of merit to the counseling session through individual intimation card (information will be available in the  Anna University website also) for selecting a branch of study and college.  All the candidates will be in a comfortable position to know in advance exactly what are the branches are vacant and what are colleges where the seats are available for selection by them.,

A candidate can take with them an Assistant (any one whom the candidate wants to accompany with him - in most cases, parents, brothers/sisters, close relatives etc.)

In the Counselng hall, counsellor will guide you to the fullest satisfaction of the candidates to select the desired branch and study.  Candidates, within 1000 rank will be in comfortable position to select the branches and colleges without any problem.  Afterwards only, the real work of counseling begins.

Candidates can view the vacancy position through Internet and large screens are set up in the Anna University for displaying the vacancy position.  Students can reach the venue in advance in order to know the exact vacancy position and decide in advance.  The students are at liberty and are given more time in a convenient manner to decide the branch and college in the counseling.  Hence, there  is no tension for any one in attending counseling.  Even  a student  from remote village with Tamil medium of study can very well understand the counseling.  CANDIDATES CAN TAKE THEIR OWN TIME IN DECIDING THE BRANCH AND COLLEGE.
